Where technology meets faith

Guided by Islamic FemTech principles, we envision a global ecosystem where Muslim women take charge of their well-being.

Our mission

At every life stage - from menstruation to post-menopause - Muslim women navigate a deeply personal journey. Balancing faith-driven values with physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health can be beautifully complex.

Our goal is to make healthcare inclusive and equitable by equipping Muslim women with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed decisions, grounded in both faith and science.

Story of Taahirah

Our story begins with our founder, Farzana. Farzana battled severe menstrual symptoms since age 11. Without proper menstrual education or understanding, she struggled through school, personal relationships, and faith obligations like prayer and fasting. Misdiagnosed for years, Farzana later discovered she had Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) - a condition that affects 10% of women - and a chronic illness, making her health challenges even more difficult to navigate.

As her symptoms began interfering with her Islamic obligations, Farzana faced new questions:

  • “When does my period end so I can resume prayer and fasting?”
  • “How do I manage missed fasts with an unpredictable cycle?”

Even with a strong academic background and access to teachers, the gap between fiqh knowledge and practical application to her irregular cycle was glaring.

Through her struggles, she realised two major issues:

1. The gender health gap is global - Over one billion Muslim women worldwide are underserved by healthcare, with two million in the UK alone. Limited access to women’s health education - both medical and Islamic - leaves many without adequate resources. Socio-cultural taboos and the lack of female scholars leave many without support. Conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, and menopause add to the complexity.

2. No centralised platform exists - Muslim women often encounter irrelevant, hyper sexualised, or faith-conflicting content. Piecing together fragmented resources creates a challenging experience, leaving critical needs unmet.

This realisation birthed Taahirah - a solution that combines faith-aligned guidance with cutting-edge healthcare support.

Why Taahirah

Rooted in Ihsan, Taahirah sets the standard for Muslim women's helath.
